Xiaomi officially released MIUI 7 about last year. Now, the Chinese privately owned electronic company has recently released the upgraded version of MIUI 7 namely MIUI 7.1 starting at January 5th, 2015 to selected Xiaomi devices.
As we all knew that not long after its release, the MIUI 7 was coming to almost all Xiaomi smartphone including the ones running Android 5.0 Lollipop or even Android 4.4 Kitkat.
The MIUI 7.1 has been rolled out and is available via Over The Air (OTA) update mechanism or manually by downloading its package. Xiaomi has also released MIUI 7.1 Global Stable as well as its China Stable version. This MIUI update is still based on Android 5.1 and aimed to bringing improved performance, features enhancements and few bug fixes. For your additional information, MIUI has always 3 ROM versions: Experimental, Developer, and Stable version. Experimental version is updated every day, and is open to a small part of senior members. Developer version (China) is updated every week, developer version (Global) is updated bi-weekly. Stable version doesn’t have a regular update frequency. It’s updated once a month/two months/even longer. Stability is its major concern.

Xiaomi Mi 2, Xiaomi Mi 2S, Xiaomi Mi 3, Xiaomi Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi 4i, Xiaomi Redmi 1s (3G), Xiaomi Redmi Note (3G), Xiaomi Redmi Note (4G), Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime (4G Dual SIM), Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi Redmi 2 / Prime (4G), Xiaomi Mi Pad, and Xiaomi Mi Pad 2.
However, easiest way to update your phone is via OTA update. So go ahead on your phone go to Settings and check for new update.
