Did you know that you can make use of KingRoot app to get root access on Redmi Note 3 (Qualcomm Snapdragon variant) easily then use SuperSU to make it permanent and powerful? SuperSU is the most popular package to get into Android system and obtain root access. However, it needs to firstly install Custom Recovery such as TWRP or CWM recovery. For some users who don’t want to bother with installing TWRP, they usually choose to use one-click root app like KingRoot or Framaroot. However, not all devices are supported by such one-click root tool and some users do not prefer to use such tool.
Previously, we have shared with you a guide on how to root Redmi Note 3 MediaTek (RN3MTK) variant using combination of KingRoot and SuperSU. In this article, you’ll see how the same method is applicable to root RN3 Snapdragon variant, but with no PC involved. Basically, as what explained by one of MIUI Resource Team members, the whole process is similar: started with using KingRoot to gain initial root and ended with installing SuperSU to take over KingRoot in maintaining the root exploit. Nevertheless, the only difference is the script used for replacing KingRoot with SuperSU.

Step 5 – KingRoot will then verify your phone. It won’t take long.
Step 6 – Once the app has been successful verifying your phone, you’ll see either Start Root or Try To Root button. Just tap on it.
Step 7 – Just sit tight and wait for the app to do its job. Once done, you’ll see something like this one :
Step 8 – Download and install Root Checker app at Play Store to verify that your phone has truly gotten root access.
Optional Step – You might also want to remove Purify – the app comes with KingRoot – if you want. But keeping it will give you – or your phone – no harm.
Replace KingRoot with SuperSU
Step 1 – Restart / reboot your phone as normally you do.
Step 2 – Download KingRoot-to-SuperSU script on your phone.
Step 3 – Open the .zip file using ES File Explorer app and extract it. You’ll get a folder named “mrw” with 4 files within.
Step 4 – Now download Terminal emulator app and install it into your phone.
Step 5 – Launch Terminal Emulator app up. Execute following command (press Enter after each command to execute it).
su sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh
Step 5 – SuperSU will then appear and will ask you for confirmations. Just follow through all the process as following. However, if SuperSU takes too long then you can simply minimize it and install SuperSU manually by using its .APK provided in mrw folder. Update SuperSU binary as Normal.
Step 8 – Finally reboot your phone as normally you do. This is to make sure all changes can be loaded onto phone’s system. That’s all and enjoy. Do not hesitate to drop your comment below.
