As many of you know, MIUI 9 ROM was officially released by Xiaomi last month and is available for the Redmi Note 4 and Mi 6 Smartphones. The upgrade brought numerous advantages, including Image Search, Smart Assistant, Smart App Launcher, Split Screen Mode, and many more. There is one drawback, however: The Play Store App is not included in the install.
Without the Play Store app, it is impossible for users to utilize any third party apps from the Google Play Store or to use any Play Services. That is where this article comes in handy. We will show the new MIUI 9 user how to download the Google Play Store App in an easy to follow, step-by-step process.
First Things First:
This guide is compatible with Xiaomi phones on MIUI 9 ROM only.
Ensure that “Unknown Sources” is enabled. (Phone Settings > Additional Settings > Unknown Sources > Enable)
Install USB Drivers on your PC.
Guide to Installing Google Play Store:
Begin by downloading the latest Google Installer v2 apk to your computer by clicking on the link. You may also download the file directly to your device storage.
If you choose to download it to your computer, make sure to copy the file to a USB device.
After this, you will locate the file using a third-party file manager app called ES File Explorer found here. Users can also use the default File Manager App.
In order to install the Google Installer, you must click on “apk” and run the file.
After the installation process is finished, launch the Google Installer app from the App Drawer.
Finally, click the blue button and this will start the installation process of the Play Store on your MIUI 9 ROM.
Reboot your device.
There you have it! Google Play Store is installed! Simple as that!
Now that you have the Google Play Store you can enjoy all of the benefits, such as cheap (or free) application downloads. Some other benefits include the password feature that gives the user peace of mind in knowing that someone else, a small child, perhaps, cannot purchase apps on the user’s account. It also keeps the Google wallet more secure. There is also an adult content filter, which rates apps based upon the maturity level. So if the user has a young child that uses the phone, they can be sure that the things the child is seeing are not beyond their level of maturity.
Another perk of using the Google Play Store is that apps have to fall under certain criteria in order to be included in the store. This ensures that there will be no malware or viruses included in the download of any application. Imagine if you had to worry that you were downloading a virus to your phone each time you wanted a new app! With Google Play Store, you don’t even have to think twice about it. Just download and go.
We hope you enjoy Google Play Store and all it has to offer!
